The average adult consumes 2700 calories a day, 35% more than USDA’S recommended daily allowance (RDA) of 2000 calories. The majority of Americans have no idea how many calories they eat and only 24% know the RDA. The Monday 2000 campaign can help people become more conscious of the calories they consume and get back on track after a weekend of overeating.
The Johns Hopkins Medical Center is currently sponsoring a study to determine if Monday 2000 email, text and point of sale messaging makes people more conscious of the calories they consume and leads to healthier choices.
