The average adult consumes 2700 calories a day, 35% more than USDA’S recommended daily allowance (RDA) of 2000 calories. The majority of Americans have no idea how many calories they eat and only 24% know the RDA. The Monday 2000 campaign can help people become more conscious of the calories they consume and get back on track after a weekend of overeating.

The Johns Hopkins Medical Center is currently sponsoring a study to determine if Monday 2000 email, text and point of sale messaging makes people more conscious of the calories they consume and leads to healthier choices.

The Monday 2000 encourages diners to monitor their calorie consumption.
