Johns Hopkins University
Students at JHU benefit from an array of Healthy Monday programs, including the SEE (Sleep, Eat, Exercise) campaign , a weekly wellness tip, Meatless Monday, Quit on Monday, and Mellow Out Monday, where trained students provide free back rubs.
What better place to serve up free fruit on Monday than the home of the Orangemen? In addition to healthful giveaways, Syracuse offers weekly Healthy Monday events including massages, zen meditation, Meatless Monday meals, Monday Miles around campus and the “Steps to Better Health” contest.
Northern Kentucky University
NKU utilizes “52 days a year to start a healthier life” with a wide array of Healthy Monday programs for physical activity, healthier eating and smoke cessation. Each week, the wellness center offers tips to students and staff via video, e-mail, Facebook and their website.
University of Northern Colorado
The University of Northern Colorado now offers a wide array of Healthy Monday campus programs and tallies healthy behaviors with a Healthy Monday Scorecard, which allows students to track their progress, see weekly tips and stay updated on event information.
Following their philosophy of “Living and Learning” healthfully, Cabrini College offers wellness information and seminars each week, along with exciting prizes and giveaways. Some favorite campus programs include The Monday Mile, “Make-it Monday” cooking demonstrations and Meatless Monday at the school marketplace.
Students reap the benefits when Tulane’s wellness center, dining halls and recreation center team up! By joining forces with other departments, the wellness center is able to offer the full gambit of Healthy Monday programs, including nutrition awareness, calorie consciousness, smoke cessation, health screenings, and physical activity events.
Fashion Institute of Technology
Always on trend, FIT’s wellness programs take advantage of the surrounding cityscape. Initiatives include smoke cessation, advice on healthy eating (both on and off campus) and three different Monday Mile city walks, complete with informative tour maps.
The College of New Rochelle
Students at CNR work together with peer wellness coaches and health educators on a wide array of Healthy Monday programs, including the SEE (Sleep, Eat, Exercise) campaign, Meatless Monday meals, Move it Monday fitness plans and “Make it Count Monday” events.
Suffolk U encourages students and staff to take a little time for themselves each Monday with the help of their yoga classes, healthy snack giveaways, free health screenings, raffles and wellness workshops. By providing a semester-long list of Healthy Monday events in advance, the wellness center ensures that no one misses out.
