The National PTA’s Magazine Features The Kids Cook Monday

Across the U.S., the National PTA does the important work of uniting parents, students, teachers and administrators to encourage parent engagement and set kids up for a lifetime of success. The Kids Cook Monday is proud to partner with the PTA at the national as well as local level to help schools become the place where the healthy habit of cooking together and regular family meals begins.

Schools from Brooklyn, New York to West Virginia have joined the Kids Cook Monday movement and this month, the National PTA highlighted the benefits of using The Kids Cook Monday’s School Program in the spring 2016 edition their official magazine, Our Children (page 27).

The Kids Cook Monday School Program is a simple way for schools to encourage family meals. Schools can start with a kick-off event during which families learn the benefits of cooking and eating together and simple ways kids can participate in the process.

“Everyone really enjoyed our Kids Cook Monday kick-off event,” Camille Casaretti, president of the PTA at P.S. 32 in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn, N.Y. says in the article. “One of the granddads called me to say what a great time his granddaughter had and that these events are what bring the family and the school community together.”

Janelle Sperry, president of the West Virginia PTA, expands on the benefits. “Our PTA members believe Kids Cook Monday is a wonderful family engagement activity,” she says in the article.
