Healthy Monday - Week 23
Mindful Monday
Welcome back to your Healthy Monday wellness program! This week, we’re looking at easy ways you can practice mindfulness throughout your day.
Try this week’s practice below and then share your feedback about how you did.
For the past few weeks, we’ve brought you tips and materials that will help you take care of yourself while you take care of so many other people. Paying attention to your physical health is important, but so is your mental health. This week, we’ll be talking about a simple way to calm your mind and reduce stress that can be practiced throughout the day: mindfulness.
We’ve brought up mindfulness a few times in our newsletters and there’s a great reason for that: it’s really helpful! Mindfulness is all about clearing your head of stressful thoughts and thinking about nothing except for the present. The key is not to clear your mind in one fell swoop – it’s about allowing other thoughts to enter your mind and then letting them go. A few moments of mindful thinking can help you reset your brain and give you a quick refresh whenever you need it.
The best part of mindfulness is that you can practice it anywhere! Take a look at our downloadable infographic which illustrates just a few ways to “stealth meditate” throughout your day. You can also visit the SOS page for GIFs that help you focus and concentrate. The DeStress Monday site also features audio meditations that can guide you into a mindful space.
