National Cancer Institute Says Use Monday to Quit and Stay Quit
Smokefree Monday Tips Provide Weekly Support
The Quit & Stay Quit Monday Resources Available to you

Most first-time quitters relapse, taking an average of 7-10 times to quit for good. Rather than focus on big days to quit – New Years or birthdays – smokers can use Monday to recommit, celebrate progress, or to quit again if they relapse. That’s 52 chances to quit, and stay quit for life.

The National Cancer Institute uses the Monday idea in their Smokefree Women program, encouraging women to pledge Monday and supporting them with weekly motivational messages on their website, Twitter and Facebook.

Organizations can use Monday to boost their smoke cessation programs with weekly check-ins with Quit Line counselors, online forums, and Monday motivator messages sent through email, SMS and social media.
