Mindful Eating

Is your life always on the go? Do you find yourself rushing a lot and even rushing meals? Our daily hustle can be stressful, but having a mindful meal could be a way to slow it down and provide you with a pleasant and healthy break.

Mindful eating is the act of noticing the tastes, textures, and sensations of what you’re eating. Slowing down and savoring each bite nurtures our appreciation of food. By simply employing techniques of moment-to-moment awareness and appreciation of the present, you naturally slow down, reduce stress, and could even feel more satiated.

Start by planning your meal, maybe cook something simple and healthy, and then set the table.  Plan to put aside all your devices during the meal to minimize distractions. After you serve the meal, pick up your fork or spoon and eat slowly, chewing and savoring each bite.

The benefits of mindful eating could be noticing the tastes, sensations, and experiences of simply eating. You might find you’ll feel healthier, less stressed, and even happier, too. Consider contemplating where your food came from and feel gratitude for its producers.

Start Monday eating mindfully to reduce stress, and carry on the practice throughout the week. We’d love to know how it goes so send us a note after your mindful meal! Find us on FacebookInstagram, and Twitter.
