NYC Parks and Move It Monday Inspire Inclusive Fitness Activities for All Abilities and Seasons

NYC Parks is one of the premier park systems in the world. Internationally recognized for its size, scope, and beauty, the approximately 30,000 acres of land are some the city’s most valuable assets. With properties ranging from beach fronts and historic monuments to athletic fields and community gardens, the NYC Parks system is a gift to the city’s residents and out-of-town visitors alike.

Move It Monday, the physical activity initiative of The Monday Campaigns, has teamed up with NYC Parks to bring Monday messaging to their more than 500K social media followers. Because of a shared reverence for inclusivity and accessibility, the two organizations have worked together to develop an 8-week campaign highlighting fun, accessible physical activities that people of all ages and ability levels can do in one of the city’s many parks or outdoor areas. The exercises and corresponding graphics were designed to promote healthy and safe movement for parkgoers as they take COVID-19 precautions to maintain social distance, avoid group congregating, and wear facial coverings.

And as we enter the colder season, Move It Monday has also collaborated with NYC Parks to offer exercises that can be done at the park or in your home. Visit the Move It Monday NYC Parks page to learn how you can bring a bit of NYC Parks to your community or family. Interested in additional ways to get moving?
