Is Your Winter Meal-Plan Menu Seasonal Produce Friendly?
Despite the frigid temperatures and seemingly barren landscapes all around, the winter months can be surprisingly abundant. In fact, much of our most popular produce is actually in-season during this chilly time of year.
That’s right, apples, beets, broccoli, cabbage, broccoli rabe, Brussels sprouts, carrots, cauliflower, celery, citrus fruits, fennel, garlic, leeks, mushrooms, onions, parsnips, pears, pomegranates, sweet potatoes, turnips, rutabagas, and radishes all fair pretty well in colder temperatures.
But we don’t.
That’s why we’ve compiled a list of our warmest, most comforting meatless recipes — all of which use seasonal winter produce — to help you and your family stay toasty through the frosty months. Make them this Monday for a cozy start to the week.
